Dautlatpur Model College Principal Honored as Best Principal in Kushtia District

Md. Sadikuzzaman Khan Suman, Principal of Dautlatpur Model College, has been selected as the Best College Principal of Kushtia district in the college category on the occasion of the National Education Week 2022. Following this achievement, various organizations and institutions extended floral greetings and congratulations to him.

On Sunday at 12:00 PM, teachers from the Honours and Master’s programs of Dautlatpur College formally presented floral greetings to Principal Md. Sadikuzzaman Khan Suman, who has been recognized as the best principal in the district. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held on this occasion. The event was attended by Principal Suman himself along with the teaching staff of the Honours and Master’s programs.

In addition, greetings and congratulations were gradually offered to Principal Suman from all departments of Dautlatpur College, including the Departments of Botany and Zoology. জেলা প্রশাসন ও জেলা শিক্ষা বিভাগের গঠিত যৌথ বাছাই কমিটির পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খ মূল্যায়নে কুষ্টিয়ার জেলার শ্রেষ্ঠ কলেজ প্রধান নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন অধ্যক্ষ ছাদিকুজ্জামান খাঁন সুমন। ৩০শে আগস্ট মঙ্গলবার সকালে জেলা প্রশাসক হলরুমে জেলা শিক্ষা অফিসের আয়োজনে এক জমকালো পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে জেলা প্রশাসক মোঃ সাইদুর রহমান তাঁর হাতে সম্মাননা স্মারক ও সনদপত্র তুলে দেন। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার মো. রমজান আলী।

শিক্ষা প্রশাসনে তাঁর রয়েছে দীর্ঘ অভিজ্ঞতা। তিনি ১৯৯৬ সাল থেকে শুকুরন নেছা একাডেমির পরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন। এছাড়া তিনি জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিনেট সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন এবং একাধিক শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে সফলতার সঙ্গে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।

তিনি দৌলতপুর পাইলট মডেল মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়, রিফায়েতপুর মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়, গোলগ্রাম কলেজ, প্রাগপুর কলেজ, দৌলতপুর দাখিল মাদ্রাসা এবং খলিশাকুণ্ডি ডিগ্রি কলেজের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।

বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান মো. ছাদিকুজ্জামান খাঁন সুমনের জন্ম ১৯৭৭ সালের ২৭ নভেম্বর কুষ্টিয়া জেলায়। তাঁর পিতা মরহুম মো. মফিজুজ্জামান খাঁন ছিলেন একজন বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এবং বাংলাদেশ কৃষি উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন (বিএডিসি)-এর অবসরপ্রাপ্ত সহকারী পরিচালক।

শিক্ষাজীবনে তিনি রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ইতিহাস বিষয়ে স্নাতক (সম্মান) ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। বর্তমানে তিনি মালয়েশিয়ার জেনটিভাসি ইউনিভার্সিটি কলেজে শিক্ষা বিষয়ে পিএইচডি গবেষণা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।

২০০২ সালে দৌলতপুর কলেজে প্রভাষক হিসেবে তাঁর কর্মজীবনের সূচনা হয়। পরবর্তীতে ভারপ্রাপ্ত অধ্যক্ষ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালনের পর ২০১৭ সালের ২৯ নভেম্বর তিনি অধ্যক্ষ হিসেবে নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত হন। শিক্ষা ক্ষেত্রে তাঁর প্রায় ২৩ বছরের সমৃদ্ধ অভিজ্ঞতা রয়েছে।

শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার পাশাপাশি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ইতিহাস সংরক্ষণেও তিনি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখেছেন। ২০১৮ সালে এশিয়াটিক সোসাইটি প্রকাশিত 'বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিশ্বকোষ'-এ দৌলতপুর উপজেলার মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়ক তথ্য সংকলনে তিনি সহযোগিতা করেন।

Sadikuzzaman Khan Sumon has played a remarkable role in advancing education, academic leadership, institutional development, and social progress in Daulatpur, Kushtia. Widely respected as an educator, education administrator, researcher, organizer, and social worker, he has earned a reputation as one of the most trusted figures in the region’s educational community. Currently serving as the Principal of Daulatpur College, he has been dedicated to improving the quality of education, strengthening academic administration, fostering a student-friendly learning environment, and promoting modern educational practices. His leadership has significantly contributed to institutional excellence and human resource development. His experience in educational administration spans nearly three decades. Since 1996, he has served as the Director of Shukrun Nesa Academy. He also served as a member of the Senate of the National University of Bangladesh, where he contributed to higher education policy and academic governance. Recognized for his administrative excellence, Principal Sumon has chaired the governing bodies of several renowned educational institutions, including Daulatpur Pilot Model Secondary School, Rifaetpur Secondary School, Golgram College, Pragpur College, Daulatpur Dakhil Madrasa, and Khalishakundi Degree College. Born on November 27, 1977, in Kushtia, Md. Sadikuzzaman Khan Sumon is the son of Freedom Fighter Md. Mofiquzzaman Khan, a retired Assistant Director of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC). His family background reflects a strong tradition of patriotism and public service. He completed both his Bachelor’s (Honours) and Master’s degrees in History from the University of Rajshahi. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Education at Genovasi University College, Malaysia, conducting research on educational leadership, management, and higher education. His academic work is expected to contribute meaningfully to future educational policy and institutional development. Principal Sumon began his teaching career in 2002 as a Lecturer at Daulatpur College. Through dedication, professionalism, and consistent achievement, he served as Acting Principal before being officially appointed as Principal on November 29, 2017. Today, he possesses nearly 23 years of distinguished experience in the field of education. Beyond academic administration, he has also made valuable contributions to preserving the history of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. In 2018, he assisted in collecting and compiling information on the Liberation War in Daulatpur Upazila for the “Bangladesh Liberation War Encyclopedia,” published by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.
